Matrika is an Ayurvedic practitioner, body worker, breath work facilitator, cathartic movement artist, yoga teacher and student of life.

She began her journey in the field of wellness alchemy as a theatre student. She then founded Medea’s Children, a performance art troupe focused on offering cathartic expression through movement and breath. She went on to investigate the body as the medium of her craft and became a Body Worker in 2017, she received her LMT from the Lauterstine-Conway School of Massage. While working with clients to overcome chronic pain and re-pattern their bodies she discovered Yoga and Ayurveda. Since then she has received two 200hour Ayurvedic Yoga Teacher Trainings and studied at The Ayurvedic Institute under Dr.Vasant Lad where she received her Ayurvedic Health Counselor certification. In 2022 she began a four year apprenticeship with Alakananda Ma at The Alandi Ashram to become a NAMA recognized Ayurvedic Doctor. Thus far in her studies she has received over 3500 hours of Ayurvedic training and the name Matrika Shakti from her teacher and mentor Alakananda Ma.
